Matthew the Tax Collector, traitor of his people, becomes Matthew the Disciple, Matthew the Apostle, Matthew the gospel writer. Doubtless as a tax collector, he had written a great deal. It was his job to keep track of the goings on of the people he collected from. None of those records are with us today. It wasn’t until Matthew wrote something for God that it became timeless. God the Holy Spirit carried Matthew along and he wrote the first of four gospels. Listen along as we discover the gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew.
